The waxing moon represents The Maiden and is a symbol of purity, youth, new beginnings, freedom and wildness. 

The full moon represents The Mother and is a symbol of love, fertility, maturity, abundance, growth, and creativity.

The waning moon represents The Crone (the wise woman) and is a symbol of the fullness of a lived life and the wisdom gathered from this.
